Water is the new fire. Escape of water is at the top of the agenda for insurers involved in every stage of building and lack of protection is resulting in higher premiums or loss of cover.

Specifically designed to accommodate the specialist requirements of water usage on construction sites this system will detect any minor and major water leak; measuring water volume in litres, shutting off the water supply when a user specified volume is exceeded within a selected time period. When installed with automatic shut off valves this system fulfils the objectives of the CIREG guidance for permanent works water systems.

Mitigate risks for one of the most prevalent causes of insurance claims.

The SiteGuard+ can analyse water usage by volume per ½ hour, hour, guard period or 24-hour period. It identifies different flow levels using a pulse sensor sent to the control panel after every 1 or 10 litres of water flow, identifying leakage rates, e.g. continuous, high and/or low level, over set time periods with a self-learning audit function which monitors normal consumption.

Multiple isolation valves can be added to protect against the damage and disruption caused by leaks. Two flow meters and isolation valves can be connected per SiteGuard+ system as standard. As isolation valves are required after each water meter and after any booster/header tanks, an unlimited amount of isolation valves can be connected via a Waterguard Valve Driver.

The controller is completely adaptable to suite the user’s requirements and water usage with several adjustable parameters and operational features.

Adjustable Parameters

  • Maximum litre allowances in each guard period or per 24 hours.
  • Maximum override time and override times.
  • Guard mode to suit the site timetable.
  • Times the site is open.

Features and Benefits

  • Activated when the flow of water passing through the water meter is at a flow rate above a pre-set maximum for a pre-set time period.
  • Able to identify different flow and therefore leakage rates.
  • Fully programmable to suit the sites water consumption criteria.
  • Allows for different water allowances for every day of the week.
  • Designed with an override function to avoid false alarms caused by normal operation of large water-consumption.
  • To avoid site delays due to false alarms, preschedule up to 3 override periods per day to allow for unlimited water usage for up to 120 minutes.
  • 12V DC and 230V AC versions available.
  • Supplied with weatherproof enclosure.
  • Audible and visible alarm when activated by a detected leak.
  • An integrated back-up battery will continue to power the controller for many months in the event of a mains power loss.
  • Low power indicator.
  • Compatible with water meters with pulsed outputs of 1, 10 & 100 Litres per pulse.
  • Meter readings visible from the controller.
  • Output link available to BMS.
  • Full events log for checking detailed activity.
  • Option to automatically switch guard level to high after 25 hours of no water use.
  • Audit function records maximum litres of water used in high and low guard periods.
  • Automatically shut off water supplies outside operational hours.
  • Connection available to booster/header tanks and pumps to isolate power in the event of a leak.
  • Available for pipe sizes 15mm to 200mm.

The SiteGuard+ is an adaptation to our original Series 7 system. Intense project trials resulted in features added exclusively to the SiteGuard+ to accommodate the complex water usage on construction sites and reduce downtime due to false alarms. The SiteGuard+ can be used on any construction site no matter the size or current phase.
